Since the turn of the millennium, the rapid development of the Internet has been defined by user content. This fact established new rules in the world of popularity. On the one hand, the Internet has democratized access to media, on the other hand, it has unleashed an avalanche of content that is difficult to control and that often exceeds the limits of both our imagination and our understanding.
But in this digital world, everything can be “fake”.
We are increasingly surrounded not only by pretense and deception produced by the people themselves but also by a completely new reality. The reality created by the world of synthetic media presents us with new questions and challenges.
The aim of the workshop is to reflect on the meaning of pretense in our lives.
To thoroughly examine the term “fake” to better prepare our critical thinking for a reality in which it will be harder and harder to distinguish between genuine and fake, real and synthetic.
