Meet the instructor
The legendary British studio The Designers Republic was founded in the 1980s by Ian Anderson, who firstly designed album covers and posters for bands and clubs that he was in charge of or in which he played. This evolved into further close work with various music labels, of which Warp Records was of key importance. In the 1990s, work by The Designers Republic reflected bold experiments with computer animation and motion design. The new media offered plenty of room for creative expression, which gave rise to the intriguing visual style of Wipeout, the famous futuristic racing games series, or projects for clients such as MTV, VH1 and Coca Cola. Work by The Designers Republic forms part of the permanent collections of the MoMA or V&A. Their work is a popular inspiration and study source for many graphic designers.
